— EVENT TIMELINE —

Under each cut is a timeline of all the major events that have occurred within the game. It goes by the in-game calendar year, so from April-March, with the first year, 814, starting in August when the game opened. There is an overview summary blurb of each year that highlights key events and changes within the game itself. This is by no means required for anyone to understand the game and just a record for those who may be interested in the game's development or want to look back for nostalgia.

Year 814 (2014)
Otherworlders appeared for the first time in Verens, starting a long tradition of them showing up every single month with few exceptions. There was a lot of adjusting as Chief Ledwika met with the new residents of Verens and the Otherworlders adjusted to dealing with emotional effects for the first time, including some strange emotional swapping. In addition to adjusting to their new homes, there was opportunity for exploration as well as the lost city of Inoman was discovered, home to both skeletons and shrines belonging to each Arehtei. It wouldn't be long before the first Arehtei made itself known with Daimonia appearing at the end of Selenium with Sosyne and Elios showing up soon after. Sosyne's visit was mostly benign outside of her attitude while Elios laid siege to the island until he was brought into balance.

This was the game's first year so much of the game world was established during this time frame. The island, Verens, the Arehtei, emotional effects, all of that was introduced as well as Boreas and Selenium for traditional holidays. The first otherworlder representatives were elected and players could have their characters join the Enforcers as well, though the former would be retired over time and the prominence of the latter would be reduced as the game grew.

  • 1 Penta: ruins appear to the southwest of Verens and the first Otherworlders appear inside them. When found, they are eventually brought to Verens and given housing within the city by order of Verens Chief, Ledwika Alers.
(August 1: IC Log, IC Log 2, Finale )

  • 12 Penta: Chief Ledwika Alers agrees to meet with Otherworlders after conversing with King Gaius of Reize Maxia, and does so on 15th Penta.
    ( August 12, August 15: Notice, IC Log )

  • 16 Exi: People experienced their emotions "swapping" with other individuals at complete random when the city crystals and their own amulets began flashing, lasting until 20 Exi.
( September 16: OOC post, IC Log, Finale )

  • 14 Ochta : During the Boreas Seasonal Dance, explosions were set off during a planned firework show, the incident causing people to panic and the city crystal to turn a solid black. The perpetrators were not caught.
( November 14: OOC post 1, OOC post 2, IC Log, IC Log2, Finale )

  • 19 Ochta: Ruins are discovered southwest of the city of Verens, eventually to known as the Town of Inoman. A report on the discovery written by archaeologist Lindsy Cartwright can be found at the public library. This was the first discovery of the beings known as Arehtei.
    ( November 19: OOC post 1, Group 1, Group 2, Group 3 )

  • 16 Deca: Thanks to findings at the Town of Inoman, resources are located to help unlock a chamber deep within the ruins that Otherworlders originally appeared in. It was in this chamber that shrines to the Arehtei were found, and the wall that names each Otherworlder now returned to their worlds.
    ( January 16: IC Log )

  • 24 Deca: Apparitions of those known to people appear as motionless figures during the day of Night of Selenium, ceasing their appearance once the day closes into night. It is as people send up their lanterns Daimonia appears on Night of Selenium, the first Arehtei to make her presence known to those living on the island. She speaks to them by their amulets, requesting people search for her.
    ( January 24: IC Post, IC Post2, Daimonia's appearance)

  • 12 Endeca: The first Otherworlder Representative campaign is held, along with heads for the new Otherworlder Enforcer division. Princess Celestia and Naomi Kimishima are chosen as Otherworlder Representatives and Edea Lee and Bobby Fulbright for head of the Otherworlder Enforcer unit.
( February 12: IC Log, OOC details )

  • 2 Dodeca: The Arehtei Sosyne is sighted in the skies above Verens briefly before disappearing; those aligned to her feel anger surge from their amulets. Not soon after, those aligned to the Arehtei Elios later hear the arehtei's voice, and feel his hate in the same manner as Sosyne alignments did anger.
    ( March 2: Source 1 )

  • 19 Dodeca : The Arehtei Elios attacks Verens filled with an intense, searching for love. Creatures made from his feathers kidnap people to take to him, and a fight breaks out into the night until people are able to calm him with 'love'.
( March 19: Event Navigation, Finale, Source OOC 1, Source OOC 2 )

  • 26 Dodeca: Scales from the Arehtei Sosyne are found scattered around the city of Verens, for no explicable reason. Though not many, they continued to appear until the end of the month. Those that touched these scales were said to feel emotions related to calm, excitement, and anger, and a memory connected to their emotion appeared around them.
    ( March 26-31: Appearance, OOC Source )

Year 815 (2015)
Having chilled out a little, Elios was around for the first Flower Festival the Otherworlders experienced and made amends by taking Otherworlders on the first trip to the planet's surface. Things wouldn't stay calm for very long as the Arehtei of Hope and Despair, Peromei made her way to the island to deal with the Otherworlder, Junko Enoshima for spreading despair. The impact of her arrival was lessened by Otherworlder Sanae Kochiya who began holding rituals and gatherings to spread hope to the Arehtei and bring balance to her mindset. Helisium came and went, bringing with it an emotional shift and the emergence of the Tree of Memories and strange memory pods that would fall later that year. Two more Arehtei would also make their appearances as Sosyne also attempted to destroy the island and Thras appeared to challenge the Otherworlders to a game, revealing afterwards the city of Shaarnath and that there were survivors living on the surface. The year would close with mystery as Simpathis' sigil flashed on the crystal before rays of light emerged pointing to a new location on the island.

This period saw a lot of growth for the game as the remaining holidays of Zephyras and Helisium were observed for the first time, more Arehtei appeared, and the surface world was explored for the first time. This was a big year for player plots and individual characters getting major roles during events ranging from the Arehtei arrivals to a fighting tournament held on the island (which was also the first appearance of the Lady in Red and Shaarnath rebels) to Selim Bradley committing mass murder towards the end of the year which would have repercussions the following year. Arehtei rituals were introduced this year and would continue for years to come, changing form as characters were dropped and new ones took them over, and Arehtei representatives were introduced as well (and later retired).

  • 17 Ena: The Arehtei Elios attends the Zephyras Flower Festival, requesting for people to take a specific flower so that he would be able to feel their emotions during this time. At the end of the festivities, Chief Ledwika Alders declared the festival a tribute to the Arehtei, and Elios promises to take the Otherworlders to the world below.
( April 17-19: Zephyras Flower Festival, Finale )

  • 24 Ena: Elios keeps to his promise and takes the Otherworlders that wish to go below with him. The land is barren and the seas red, and the Otherworlders are only able to stay for around 3 hours under Elios' protection. They attempt to bring life to the land, and while they manage a few plants, these soon wither up and die.
    ( April 24: Event details, Source 1, Source 2 )

  • 18 Tria: Otherworlder Sanae Kochiya was able to warn of the incoming arrival of the Arehtei of Hope and Despair, Peromei, after she offered the Arehtei her crystal, and was clued in to the Arehtei's suffering that was being inflicted by another Otherworlder by name of Junko Enoshima, who had earlier agreed to being given apathy medication for her despair. Rituals were conducted focusing on her aligned emotions to attract her to a field outside of the city, and it was here that Peromei pulled them into a maze of her making, challenging those at the ritual to face great despair in order to make their way out.

Peromei's challenges would be met with success, the Arehtei leaving the island with a warning to not let hope be lost. With Miss Enoshima's desire to spread despair revealed to be more than depression but her ultimate goal, she was put under surveillance.

( August 16-24: OOC Details, Mid-August post, Tournament Round 1, Round 2, Investigation, Final part)

  • 5 Exi: The bodies of ten missing miners from villages near the Ferril Mountains were discovered by a group of Otherworlders. The miners had been tortured and killed by Sachiko Shinozaki, a vengeful spirit and an Otherworlder. Sachiko Shinozaki had also kidnapped and tortured an Otherworlder for the month of Penta before killing the Otherworlder on the 1 of Exi. She was caught on that day itself by the Otherworlder Enforcers and trialed by the laws of Verens where she admitted to her crimes. She was executed by crystal removal in accordance with the laws of Verens, and then exorcised by the Otherworlders. Her purified spirit was placed under surveillance and monitoring by the Otherworlder Enforcers until she left the island in Endeca 815.
    ( Dates N/A )

  • 19th Exi: Pods hanging from the Tree of Memories fall from the first time, coming as a great shock to everyone. The state of each pod differs, affecting those who come close to them in either a "positive" or "negative" fashion. Please refer to the page on these pods for more details.
    ( September 19: Mid-September post, IC post )

  • 29 Exi: After a week or so of strange occurrences of water mysteriously boiling throughout the island, the Arehtei Sosyne makes her appearance in a rage and with the intent of destroying Verens. Elios intervenes and the two engage in battle, while familiars fall into the city, waves of Sosyne's anger destroying buildings and influencing the emotions of individuals. The city crystal is used to try and stop Sosyne but Elios flies in the way of the blast, and before long the Arehtei Daimonia and Thras appear to declare interdiction, stopping the battle completely. After this day, strange characters float around the crystal, no longer reflecting the general emotional state of the city.
( September 29: IC Arrival, IC Post, IC Interdiction )

  • 22 Empta : As announced in a previous visit where he brought books for people to use, the Arehtei Thras welcomed Otherworlders to take on a challenge as designed by him. People were given the power to perform magical feats as described in his book, and people who stayed within Verens were able to watch the action from viewing screens around the Tree of Memories. Once the challenge was complete, Thras revealed his city of Shaarnath to everyone.

  • 26 Dodeca: The crystal was witnessed suddenly changing in colour from light colours to darks, until finally the known symbol of Simpathis appeared all over its surface, before twelve beams of light shot out from it. One light was located to have fallen within a new location on the island, revealing a site filled with crystals and a large glass lens. Its function is currently unknown.
( March 26: IC log, OOC post )

Year 816 (2016)
Zephyras came and went, bringing with it a vision of Areta, a sister city to Verens. Murder seemed to be the name of the game for much of the year as Otherworlders murdered each other both under the influence of dead spirits attached to the Arehtei Aiada and seemingly just because they're Kylo Ren. While being executed for murder, a strange black mass appeared and entered Ren, this would soon come to be known as the Reaper, a vengeful spirit tasked with punishing Otherworlders for killing their own, capable of inflicting physical, mental, and emotional punishments on anyone who would upset the balance of the limbo it calls home. The strange lights seen at the end of the last year were revealed to be a teleportation device, allowing travel between Shaarnath and Verens and later other areas of the world and a joint organization between Verens, Shaarnath and the Otherworlders was formed to continue exploring and restoring the world. The last Arehtei, Piphron, was found, though with mixed results as the Arehtei wasn't exactly friendly with the Otherworlders, though a far cry from how the others act when unbalanced. Further attempts to explore the world resulted in more discovery as Otherworlders were invited to the city of Theasthai in Daimonia's lands, and adventured through the apathetic ruins of Lavieti.

This was a big year of exploration. The remaining Arehtei appeared and the focus shifted from their introduction to exploring and restoring the world. It was also a fairly big year for player plots as once again, PC death played a large focus, and the Reaper NPC was introduced as a result of Selim Bradley's prior actions. There were things besides murder though as once again, exploration was a big thing. A new city was introduced in Theasthai, new locations were discovered, and in Lavieti, new items were found (a compass and poem) that would led into the the artifact finding phase that the game would be in for the next couple years.

  • 15-17 Ena: The Zephyras Flower Festival is celebrated with great success. All goes well until towards the end, when the crystal in the city is reported to have suddenly reacted with a soft humming and a glow that pulsated out and into the Tree of Memories, causing a pod to burst into petals and pollen that spread out into the city. Soon after, Verens is enveloped in the illusion of another city, one far more advanced-seeming in appearance than Verens. The symbol of Simpathis is observed on various surfaces in this illusion, and a voice is heard by native and Otherworlder alike mourning that of a sister city known as "Areta".

Many people suffered from short cases of extreme empathy and apathy during and after the vision disappeared, but with no reports of anyone suffering longer than in the time frame of the event.
( April 15-17: Festival Navigation, Finale, OOC post )

  • 3 Dua: It was discovered on 28 Ena that Otherworlder Junko Enoshima had been murdered, with her murderer soon revealed to be fellow Otherworlder Kylo Ren. He was arrested by 1 Dua, and then sentenced to death for his crime on this date via having his crystal destroyed without replacement.
    ( May 3: Arrest, OOC details )

  • 8 Dua: An earthquake spread over the island that caused some minor damages to the city and to various hamlets. While people suffered injuries, there were no reported deaths. This has later revealed to be connected to the Arehtei of Appreciation and Jealousy, Aiada, who was suffering under the misery of the deceased.
    ( May 8: IC log, )

  • 20-24 Dua: A spectacle is seen in the dead of night, later revealed to be sprites of the Arehtei Aiada being chased by the dead and consumed until they burst, their possessed remains raining back down upon the land. In the following days, swamps form and crystal-like structures erect from the ground, and people who had been touched by the specks that had fallen show signs of possessed. Fuelled by jealousy for the living, they seek out ancient obelisks connected to Aiada to destroy, and the Arehtei pleas for anyone who can to purify these obelisks to aid her in doing so.

After a long exchange between the possessed and those not, the obelisks are purified and so are the possessed and the dead, and a long, serpent-like figure presumed to be Aiada is seen before disappearing below the island.
( May 20-24: Navigation, Finale, OOC details )

  • 1 Tria: Otherworlder Kylo Ren finally passed on from lacking a crystal. However, before his body disappeared multiple eye witnesses reported a strange black mass entering itself into his body despite size or restriction. Nothing like this has before been documented during an Otherworlder's passing.
( June 1: Blob sighting, Network announcement )

  • 14 Tria: An announcement is made by those researching the device that had been revealed back on the 26 Dodeca of its purpose as a teleporter, as well as the contact made to the city of Shaarnath and the eventual arrival of diplomats from the city below.
    ( June 14: Network post )

  • 22 Tria: Shaarnath's diplomats arrive and are met by Chief Ledwika and the Otherworlder representatives.
    ( June 22: Log )

  • 9 Tessa: Two pods related to the Arehtei Piphron dropped from the Tree of Memories. Those aligned to him reported feeling compelled to go to the tree before they dropped.
    ( July 9: Log )

  • 16-18 Tessa: The Light of Helisium festival went off with little to no interruptions, with special guest entertainers from Shaarnath being invited for the festivities.
    ( July 16-18: Log 1, Log 2, OOC )

  • 28 Tessa: A court case was held for the once again murder of Junko Enoshima, who accused another otherworlder for her death on 19 Tessa. However, during the trial the mysterious being that had visited otherworlder Kylo Ren was witnessed by many to have appeared and cleared the otherworlder of her accusation by revealing she had plotted her own death at the hands of another. It also revealed the apparent power to seal her away her ability to experience anything related to despair as punishment.
    ( July 28: Murder, Trial )

  • 29 Tessa: Following a grand announcement made by Ledwika Alers and Rajaad, the leaders of Verens and Shaarnath respectively, passage between Shaarnath and Empatheias was opened to the public.
    ( July 29: Log )

  • 19 Penta: With the discovery of a code leading to Piphron's domain, otherworlders made a day trip to locate Piphron. The trip was met with some success, with the Arehtei agreeing to establish contact with the outside world, if warily.
    ( August 19: Event navigation )

  • ** Exi: A collaboration between Shaarnath, Empatheias, and Otherworlders is announced in the form of air travel to explore the lands of the world below, known as the ESO.
( ** No IC date known: OOC info, OOC page )

  • 16 Exi: After the Arehtei Elios put up a request asking for people willing to donate their crystals to them on a day where they would come to collect them, once they took these crystals, those surrounding the central Market Square with them experienced visions of the "space" outside worlds, and those of various unknown lands and cities, presumed to be connected to the otherworlders.
    ( September 16: log )

  • 7 Empta: A troupe in Verens reveals to be from Daimonia's city and promises to take those who wish to visit there. Instead they lead them to a dead city, Thera, and say that access to Theasthai will be available if they collect shards found in the city. This is made true after the 14th, when teleporter access is soon made available. ( October 7: IC log1, IC log2, IC log3, IC log4. )

  • 09-27 Ochta: A location within Aiada's domain was discovered and explored, a teleporter found for easier travelling and also bottles revealed to have the same sprites that Aiada relies on to move around for her. Signs of life were also discovered with pieces of weaponry, and also wooden huts in the trees.
( November 9-27: IC log, OOC post )

  • 18-22 Deca: A code found led to the discovery of a city within Simpathis's domain, Lavieti. While slowly being eaten at by the abundance of apathy in the atmosphere, a majority of the city still stood, except those that appeared to be bombed in the past. Shadows of those who once lived within the city continued to roam the streets, as well as mechanical wheels, and a sanctuary inside the city contained hidden within well-sealed chambers pieces of paper and stone that would turn out to be a poem and a compass.
    ( January 18-22: OOC post )

  • 30-31 Deca: The people of Theasthai invited those from the other cities to celebrate Selenium within their own city at the Hanging Gardens. While some experienced complications with their candles and were said to reveal someone of extreme negative significance to the individual, it was not a common issue. The reason for this occurrence is unknown.
    ( January 30-31: OOC post )

  • 12 Endeca: Experiments with the compass discovered in Lavieti caused a reaction in the long broken crystal in the city, a light covered the crystal and then showed a vision of a winged creature flying through the city before disappearing back inside the crystal, believed to be the Arehtei of Sympathy and Apathy, Simpathis. An image of a city also appeared on the surface of the crystal before disappearing.
( February 12: IC log, OOC post )

  • 27-31 Dodeca: Research into the poem found at Lavieti leads explorers to tower by an oasis some distance from Shaarnath, where small signs of plant life grow. A passage behind the oasis and its waterfall is revealed after some time, leading to three chambers filled with antiques and books from the old days.
    ( March 27-31: IC log )

Year 817 (2017)
The year got off to an ominous start as Elios was oddly absent during the Flower Festival. Soon Otherworlders would experience what would happen if an Arehtei became overwhelmingly positive as Elios driven mad with love attempted to freeze Verens in order to keep its populace forever and ever (and ever and ever and ever). The attempt was thwarted but not without lasting effects as the island which had previously drifted through the sky was now tethered to the surface by a number of vines. Danger also came from a new source as well as crystal thefts plagued the city through the year and were eventually discovered to be the work of the city of Briarlan, a technological city of questionable morals. The people of Verens agreed to create a trade deal with Briarlan after accepting the explanation that the crystals were needed to defend the city and construction on a radio tower in Verens began. Shortly after, the Arehtei Aiada, experiencing an imbalance brought heavy storms to the island before lights from the surface pacified her. Otherworlders discovered the source of the lights to be obelisks in her land, powered by a machine that if working correctly could help to quell the imbalance.

This was a big year behind the scenes as applications temporarily closed during the Elios plot, meaning for the first time since the game opened, new characters didn't arrive on the island. It was also the first time the intro log took place off the island as one month new characters appeared beneath the now tethered island. Laena, the game's founder also stepped down (she'd be back in 2019) leaving the game in other capable hands. The concept of Arehtei representatives was phased out for the Arehtei committee which would later be renamed the World Restoration Committee.

  • 15-17 Ena: The Zephyras Flower Festival is this year celebrated within a city discovered and prepared in Elios's domain known as Diateris, and with great success amongst the participants. A sculpture is put together for the Arehtei of Love and Hate, but the Arehtei is discovered to be absent during the entire festivity.
    ( April 15-17: OOC post )

  • 22 Dua: Following the report of thefts of otherworlder crystals and also the decrease in resources for replacements inside the underground of Calinede Temple, a search is made for replacements, a floating island with the required crystals located and taken back to the city. No discovery is made as to who the thieves may be, nor their intentions.
    ( May 22: OOC post )

  • 28-29 Tria: Following the discovery of Elios hiding himself away due to an overabundance of love compared to love over a long period of time, a trap was set to force Elios out of his lands and to keep him away from Verens, which was becoming covered in ice and otherworlders becoming affected by his love. An evacuation plan was put in motion to allow safe haven for many in Theasthai and Shaarnath while this took place, and Elios was eventually calmed down with the help of his fellow Arehtei and the efforts of otherworlders.
( June 28-29: OOC post, Daimonia investigates, A group investigates, Call for help, bait log, city log, refugee log, OOC post 2, event aftermath )

  • Tessa: The pillars of ice that had trapped the island into a standstill during Elios's state of stability have kept, with roots covering the entirety of them down to the lands directly below. No new arrivals of individuals from other worlds occurred, being the first month that this has ever happened.
( July: Rooted island details )

  • 29 Tessa: This year, the Light of Helisium took place inboth Shaarnath and Helisium, with the day activities taken place in Shaarnath and Helisium holding a masquerade.
( July 29: OOC post, Shaarnath log, Helisium log )

  • Start of Penta: During the time when new arrivals were to surface, a strange occurrence happened when they appeared beneath the island, close to one of the roots keeping the island up. No explanation has been found for this.
    ( August 5: Newbie arrival log )

  • 15-31 Penta: By some unknown means, a pollen swept across the island that made people first suffer dreams of alternate lives, that they then began to believe were real. A cure for this epidemic was found in Mt. Euda's caves, and was spread to ensure the problem could not happen again.
    ( August 15-31: Event details)

  • 16 Exi: During the night, the crystal above the observatory was stolen by a group in connection to the previous amulet thefts. With the crystal lost, the island--and those living on it--began to suffer mood shifts, with plants blooming out of control and/or dying within seconds.
( September 16: Event post, OOC post )

  • 20 Exi, 24 Exi: The crytsal's location was found on another floating island, home of the city of Briarlan, and retrieved on 20 Exi. Communication between the two cities was established, and on the 24 Exi, Ledwika made an announcement explaining the city's inability to protect itself and the reason for taking the crystal, and also a trade deal: the offer of new technology in exchange for crystals. The public were allowed to vote for or against the deal.
( September 24: Briarlan log, Vote log )

  • 28 Exi: The votes for the trade deal finally tallied, Ledwika made a public announcement of the trade deal made with Briarlan.
    ( September 28: IC post )

  • 16 Empta - 3 Ochta: Quite suddenly, to the 16 Empta to the 19 of Empta, the Arehtei Aiada began to fly around the skies in her full form, creating storms heavy winds around the island. She was stopped when beams of light from the surface surrounded and encased her into a bubble, putting her and her infamous sprites into a deep slumber.

As she slept, people went down to the surface to find the beams were coming from obelisks surrounding a temple in her lands, and broken obelisks were fixed to help keep Aiada asleep while the temple was explored. Inside a machine was found that, when activated, shot another beam of light around Aiada and broke the first bubble, and helped to shrink her form down and to place her on the island safely.

The reason for Aiada's initial unrest is believed to be due to imbalance.
( October 16 - November 3: Storm log, domain log, temple log, machine activated log, OOC post )

  • 18 Endeca: An excursion was taken by Empatheias natives and Otherworlders alike to an apathy-riddled city under Simpathis's territory. Investigation into three still standing buildings resulted into findings of the city's culture, military records, and study in emotional geography.
( February 18: Event log, Event finale, OOC post )

  • 14-18 Dodeca For nearly a week, insects known as polgos were brought out by the poor weather and ravaged the island for food and anything else they could carry off. Their tiny civilisation was found in the underground tunnels so they could be told off, and their missing Queen found, whose absence caused the trouble in the first place. Despite their mischief, plays and stories have become popular about the creatures.
    ( March 14-18: Event log )

Year 818 (2018)
The month of Dua began quietly enough with the occasional oddly nonthreatening tornado appearing and moving people throughout the island. These mostly quiet times did not last though as Peromei led an expedition to Brinndosi, her ancient lands, where her artifact was recovered. A group of Otherworlders led by Velvet Crowe also attempted to kill the Arehtei Sosyne, the attempt was unsuccessful but the Shaarnath rebels would be much more successful in the months to come, killing the Arehtei Thras. He would later be reborn, as the Arehtei usually are and continues to reside in Shaarnath. Towards the end of the year, Piphron's artifact was also found, leaving only a few remaining. Additionally strange technology was found beneath the surface of Lake Niras, revealing visions of the city Areta which hadn't been seen for some time.

During this timeframe, the Arehtei rituals were reworked in order to have a more balanced effect on the emotion tracker, the World Restoration Committee logs were retired, and the Boreas Harvest Festival became more of a background feature during the month of October instead of a proper event. The fate of the Shaarnath rebels was also decided by an IC vote, which selected imprisonment for their leader and rehabilitation for the others as opposed to harsher measures. An Arehtei died for the first time (it had been listed as a consequence in the prior year's Aiada event but didn't happen) and was brought back, providing an in person experience for characters rather than just being secondhand information.

  • 18-21 Dua: For over three days, a phenomenon occurred where "gentle" twisters moved around individuals at random. Resigned, grounded emotions seemed to help combat the playful winds until they finally ceased.
    ( May 18-21: Event log )

  • 06/18-27 Tria: A call was made out to Otherworlders by the Arehtei Peromei, asking for their assistance exploring an area of great concern. Native Empatheians and Otherworlders alike arrived at a structure atop a plateau. In time it was discovered this was for astronautical engineering, but there was also a temple that led to the discovery of a peculiar bell. This was taken by Peromei, saying it had some use in aiding the world, though she wasn't sure how.

( August 20: attack log, OOC post)

  • 20 Exi: A drop in water levels after a particular frosty night revealed a spacious cavern in Lake Niras with stairways and tunnels. Exploration led to rooms more clearly man-made, as well as devices that, with some poking, shared visions of a city not seen in a long time: Areta.
( September 20: Event log, OOC post )

  • 31 Empta: Across their crystal amulets on the last night of (carnival), a connection was established from Thras to everyone as a surprise attack approached on him. ( October 31: Thras network)

  • 10 Ochta: A message was shared out by Chief of Verens, Ledwika, and Rajaad, leader of Shaarnath, concerning Thras's murderers. Aid was called for in helping Shaarnath find justice for the late Thras, as well as for the citizens of Shaarnath.
    ( November 10: Network post )

  • 24-30 Ochta: After exhausting investigation, an arduous trip was taken across Shaarnath's deserts to where the rebel stronghold was located, and their leader captured. While the leader has been jailed indefinitely, those involved have been shown mercy in being rehabilitated.

  • 22-28 Endeca: For about a week, amulet communication suffered interference, sharing messages with the wrong person, or personal thoughts with the whole community. Visions were seen, apparently something to do with a Verens without the large crystal, some strange creation with scientists around a cottage-sized crystal, and a barren, war-torn land. Specific crystals were collected to help with the issue.

  • 20-31 Dodeca: Investigation into previous trip findings unveiled that a large rock was hiding a dagger that reacted to the compass also found long ago. Year 819 (2019)
For the world of Empatheias, the first major event this year was a series of strange portals opening across the island that deposited items, or in some cases just junk, from the characters' worlds. Things continued escalating after that as the GEM, a mechanical arehtei was pieced back together and attacked. As the year continued, Elios' and Thras' artifacts were discovered, along with the land of Ephyria, these events were bookended by bizarre environmental events vines in the fall and a strange blizzard in the winter, but these appear unrelated to those discoveries.

Behind the scenes, the emotion tracker was retired and the TDM was retooled to serve as a possible intro log in order to provide more possibilities for the in game intro log such as combining it with in game events. Applications also changed to bimonthly, with reserves and the TDM following this schedule as well, meaning characters appear in the world every other month instead of every month. Arehtei rituals were retired earlier in the year after having one last hurrah during an event with Elios and Peromei. There will no doubt be more to come as the year continues and this will be updated.

  • 20-23 Dua: Glimpses of portals overhead were witnessed dropping items revealed to be related to the worlds of Otherworlders. This lasted for three days before stopping; the reason behind it is still unknown.
( May 20: Event log, OOC post)

  • Tria: A heavy white fog drenched the island, causing extreme emotional effects in individuals, even reversing their usual demeanour as the month went on. It was quickly found to be the results of GEM, a mechanical arehtei-like robot that had been found in pieces in the Ferril Mountains, and then fixed back in Verens. Looking to bring balance through whatever means necessary, the Enforcers and others brought willing combatants together to put a stop to her.
( June: OOC post, GEM network, Event log )

  • 20 Penta: Two families existing in Verens discovered they had lineage going back to Elios's lands following emblems used in the Flower Festival. This spat, taking place in the Market Square, caused a disturbance in the Tree of Memories that brought ghosts of the past. Locations of past also trapped individuals inside until they could find a way out.

Eventually the passions of the past were cooled, and the reunion of two trapped ghosts led to a chalice being reformed, given to Elios.
( August 20: Event log, Event finale, OOC post )

  • Exi: Tremors have been noticed occurring through the month, as well as the appearance of mechanical animals either attacking people in the night, or rummaging for scrap metal or crystal around the city. A mist was also being expelled in locations, such as the Ferril Mountains, the Calinede Temple, and Port Niras.
( September 1, onwards: Event log, OOC post )

  • 26 Exi: Vines began to appear over Verens, wrapping tight around structures and the roads. While emotional effects had some success in culling them, they continued to grow. Pumpkins were also growing on these vines.
( September 26: Event log, OOC log )

  • 05 Empta: As last month's strange occurrences continue, the vines pumpkins attached to the vines 'hatched', quickly becoming a pest problem. The vine issue has grown worse, and at night, a grand humanoid figure carrying a pumpkin head has been witnessed around town. Instead of a danger, it threw its endless pumpkin heads to reveal gifts of comfort to those around.
    ( October 05: Event log )

  • 19-21 Empta: Thras invited everyone to join in on an event called Swordcon, where many were skilled in a variety of fighting roles, similar to when the previous Thras conjured an adventure that gifted those involved with skills not theirs. During this event, a sword at the con showed visions of a city forgotten. This would lead to the discovery of Ephyria.
( October 19-21: Event log, OOC post )

  • Ochta: For the first time since new arrivals showed under the island back in 817, newcomers from other worlds appeared in the deserts outside Shaarnath. It's not known why, although a city connected to Thras had been discovered and was at the time being investigated.
    ( November: Intro log )

  • 20 Ochta: A bigger trip was undertaken to Ephyria, a city seen in visions showing a sword. Discovering a labryinth scattered with traps and guarded by a large beast, its defeat resulted in further mayhem, until finally the sword was revealed and the city brightening with new growth.
( November 20: Event log, Event End, OOC Post )

  • 6-20 Ennea: A blizzard starts soon after the return of the Arehtei of Hope and Despair, Peromei, to Verens. The resulting snow causes many to grow weak and lethargic, with only the sound of singing capable of combating the effects, while a plant brought back to the Arehtei harassed civilians by clinging to them, forcing them into bizarre meet-ups. At the same time, a case of "werewolf flu" hit the island, which went as far to give people random body parts of a wolf (ears, a tail) or to shift them completely into a beast. A cure for this was found, and the snow mostly cleared away from the streets.
( December 6-20: Event log, OOC post )

  • 24-28 Deca: On the eve of Selenium, everyone on the island of Empatheias is pulled into a mass dream taking place in the city of Areta, during a day of Selenium in the past. There is whispers of war, and many people become stuck in personal dreams that pull others in, and need their assistance to come out of them. The culprits behind this are revealed to be researchers from Briarlan using the Tree of Memories.
( January 24-28: Event log, Event finale, OOC post )

  • Endeca: Following the events after Selenium, the island was freed from its stationary state and began moving once more, while multiple rifts appeared that deposited people, places, and more from other worlds at an alarming rate. Mecharehtei had also been left behind by those from Briarlan.

It wasn't until towards the end of the month that a way to close the rifts was found, and life on Empatheias calmed again. The search for Briarlan continues.
( February: Event log, Event Finale log, OOC post )

  • 17 Dodeca: As the erratic weather effects and life in general calmed after the excitement of the island moving once more, a message was sent out by the Arehtei Piphron requesting assistance. His troubles were in the form of a travelling bus that was absorbing emotional energy to move, and within each cars, bizarre effects were taking place that had curious effects on people: allowing them magical gifts known from other worlds, changing their biology, and so forth.
